Fixed Term Contract – Security Clearance*  BPSS –

£ 35,000 To £ 37,500

 

Typical benefits to be confirmed with the client; and can include a tour bonus payable at the 12 month point of your tour and then at the 24 month point of your tour. This is a loyalty payment and will not be paid on a pro-rata basis unless under exceptional circumstances determined by the Account Director (subject to any applicable statutory deductions).

Holiday – Tour Duration of 24 months – 80 days excluding weekends (FTE).

 

Job Overview

 

The Employer on Ascension Island are seeking a experienced Operations and Security Manager. This is a key role responsible for the running of the Base HQ Operations on Ascension Island Base. The role holder is responsible for the day-to-day management of the team ensuring the department runs efficiently, is compliant with all applicable regulations and in line with Company policy and procedures

 

Main Duties

 

Responsible for managing the Base HQ Operations, including the efficient delivery of the daily management duties of the department related to operations, flights dispatch and airside services.  Accountable for delivering excellent customer service and communication to the business ensuring all relevant departments are kept up to date with all the relevant operational changes whilst demonstrating and promoting our company values and advocate our safety culture.

Responsible for ensuring close collaboration and excellent communication with the MoD for the purpose of flight scheduling, maintenance events and AOG situations.

Manage the operations team in support of efficient oversight and supervision of day-to-day operations.

 

What we are looking for

Excellent clear, concise communication skills are essential with excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.

Excellent and very comprehensive knowledge of applicable MoD or CAA regulations with respect to Dispatch Procedures, Ground Operations, Dangerous Goods and Security.

Proven management experience with the ability to engage and develop a Team.

Previous experience with a good knowledge and familiarity with aviation management

An understanding of Air Traffic Control procedures and possessing, radio telephony skills are essential.

Must have had at least five years relevant work experience.

Previous AvSec experience would be advantageous.

Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.

Full drivers licence.
