Active Community Development Officer (2 Posts) – Wellbeing, Sports & Leisure Service

Culture, Sports and Tourism are looking for two passionate and motivated Active Community Development Officers to join our Wellbeing, Sports and Leisure Service.

What’s Involved?
In this role, you will:

Enhance and support County Durham’s place-based expansion work in partnership with the Moving Together network.
Work within communities to engage residents and take a strength-based, community-centred approach to improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
Collaborate with local stakeholders and residents to understand and address systemic barriers to physical activity.
Be based in one of the following areas: Peterlee/Horden/Blackhall, Stanley, Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland, Shildon.

What Will I Need?
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a related area OR relevant experience in community development, partnership working, or project management.
Experience of: Partnership working with hard-to-reach people and communities.
Supporting voluntary and community groups.
Co-design and co-production with local communities.
Planning, managing, and evaluating projects, programmes, or events.
