We’re looking for an experienced, forward‑thinking Commissioner to help shape high‑quality, outcome‑focused services for children, young people, and families. What you’ll do:

Lead and contribute to projects supporting vulnerable children and young people with complex needs.
Scrutinise and negotiate placement costs, ensuring they reflect the true cost of care.
Monitor provider performance and attend reviews to ensure needs are met and outcomes are achieved.
Work with care teams to track progress, manage additional costs, and ensure timely step-downs.
Report on progress and impact to senior officers, working closely with the Strategic Commissioning Manager.

What you’ll need:

A degree or recognised qualification in social care, health, housing, social policy, research, management, education – or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong understanding of commissioning and placement brokerage.
Significant experience in social care, health, or housing, with involvement in policy or project work.
Proven experience of multi-agency working and delivering successful service developments.

You will role-model our OPEN values – outcome‑focused, people‑focused, empowering, and innovative.
