We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Learning & Engagement Support Officer to help shape exciting learning opportunities at The Light, our new venue opening in 2026.

About the Role
You will design and deliver engaging learning activities, resources, and events that bring our venues, collections, and creative programmes to life. Working with schools, teachers, partners, and local organisations, you’ll lead imaginative projects that spark curiosity and broaden cultural engagement across County Durham. The role also involves supporting exhibitions, developing digital content, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring safe, high‑quality learning environments.

What You’ll Need
Experience developing and delivering learning activities in cultural, heritage or arts settings
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of learning, engagement and audience development best practice
Project and resource management experience
Experience working with schools and educational partners
Understanding of digital learning tools and engagement platforms
Awareness of heritage collections and performance arts
