Are you passionate about nature conservation and looking to make a real impact on the environment? Join the North Pennines National Landscape’s Peatland Programme as a Peatland Support Officer and help protect and restore one of the UK’s most important natural habitats.

🔍 About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of peatland restoration work across the North Pennines until 31 March 2027. Working alongside the Peatland Programme Field Officer, you’ll:

Negotiate access for restoration work with landowners, keepers, and agents
Survey and develop specifications for peatland restoration contracts
Supervise and manage restoration contractors
Support the delivery of volunteer events and community engagement
You’ll be part of a committed team working to enhance biodiversity, improve water quality, and combat climate change through peatland restoration.

🎓 What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:

Holds a degree in nature conservation or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Has experience working with landowners, farmers, and/or gamekeepers
Has experience organising volunteer events
Is enthusiastic, well-organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team
