Our client, a trusted partner of the UK’s Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced JAVA Software Engineer. This role offers the unique opportunity to develop innovative solutions for next-generation Air Defence Systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety, performance, and dependability.

As a JAVA Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing cutting-edge software tools and architectures for future products. This position is perfect for a proactive and initiative-driven Software Engineer who is eager to make a significant impact and contribute to ground-breaking projects.
What do you need?:
- A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
- Experience of working in JavaCollaborative, open approach to development and have the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum during development.
- Experience of working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and proving, supported with effective documentation
- Experience of new tools, techniques and approaches that might enable us to evolve our processes to improve our efficiency and sustainability
- Experience in other languages such as Ada
- Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems
- Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C or IEC61508
