Our client, a trusted partner of the UK’s Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Software Product Support Engineer. You will join a dedicated team passionate about deploying software in battlespace Command and Control (C2) weapon systems, working with cutting-edge technology in European missile system design.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in-service missile-system middleware solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve software issues as part of a small team.
  • Debug and conduct engineering investigations.
  • Configure, support, and maintain Linux OS (Redhat and/or Ubuntu) and security solutions.
  • Work across multiple applications on land and maritime projects within the systems software department.

 

What Do You Need:

  • Proficiency in C or C++ (at least one is essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, along with shell scripting languages.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining Linux OSs, including Kernel configuration and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for software engineering.
  • Clear communication skills for technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
