Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join our successful client based in the Tandridge, Oxted,RH8 9DB area. Our client who specializes in Waste Management is transforming waste into valuable resources and lessening its impact on the environment.
Pay rate: £15.50 per hour, weekly pay in arrears, every Friday
Shift pattern: Tuesday – Friday 6.00 am till 4:30pm
HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver – Duties & Responsibilities
The right person will be responsible for driving the refuse lorry and assisting loaders with collecting/emptying bins from residential premises, returning them where necessary, and ensuring all additional work and missed bins are completed. We prioritize safety and efficiency in our operations, providing necessary training and PPE to ensure a professional and secure working environment.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, attention to safety and follow project timelines and complete tasks within the set deadlines.
The work and conditions can be demanding but will provide a fulfilling and interesting career for the right people.
A minimum of one year experience in HGV Class 2 driving is essential.
Adhere to designated shift pattern, Tuesday to Friday from 6:00 am till 4:30 pm
Drive and operate a class 2 dust car, refuse lorry, or bin lorry
Perform daily walk-around vehicle checks
Collect refuse from a different local area each day of the week
Ensure completion of all additional work and missed bins
Assist with manually moving domestic wheelie bins
Maintain awareness of other vehicles or people on the road and operate the lorry safely
Work as part of a small team
HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver – Person Specification
UK HGV Class 2 driving license (minimum 12 months)
Digital tachograph card & CPC card
Ability to provide a professional waste management service to residential customers
Keen and eager to learn new skills
Excellent, professional work ethic
Good team working skills and good communication skills
Ability to adapt quickly to a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Previous experience within a waste & recycling industrial environment would be an advantage.
