The CV

Lets Break it Down!

Let’s face it, most within the service community have never had to write a real CV, if your reading this as a service person, leaver, ex-forces or spouse, you are perhaps one of these people……This is normal, it is not culture within the Armed Forces to do this.

CV writing is an art, it needs to be developed, updated and more importantly, become understood!

The Forces Transition Group will give you this understanding through a 121 personal session (60 Mins Zoom or Live in Person), giving you a life skill to take with you throughout your journey.

We will work with you step by step (time individual dependent), you will write the CV, you will own it, your story will be told…..by you!

Concentration will be given to 5 Wonders, which include The Reader Mindset, A Soft Approach to Connection, Enhanced Achievement using Numbers, The Past and Quantifiable Education.

Forces communites are fast learners, they are intelligent, they plan, they achieve, they are outstanding, but we all need to be given the fundamentals first, perhaps repetition works best for you.

FAQs for Hunters

Do I need a CV for the Forces Transition Group job fair?

No – you can attend even if you have not got around to sorting out your CV. You will still be able to interact directly with potential employers during the job fair.

(Top Tip – it’s always a good idea to get your CV prepared anyway. If you need help with this just get in touch with us here)

I cannot make the online Jobs Fair, will it be repeated?

Not exactly – we try to make each job fair fresh and exciting by showcasing new employers that have not exhibited before, so only a handful of key exhibitors are invited to return. Some exhibitors choose to have their presentation permanently on the job fairs website so you can return anytime to view those.

I've already left the forces, can I attend the job fair?

Yes, if you ever served within the forces, this is for you.

Can I attend the job fair if I have not started my transition?

Yes you can – many ‘in-service’ Forces personnel attend our job fairs as it helps them identify career paths that they may not have thought of.
