Elevation and Interview Technique

‘Lets practice’

Service Leavers have always struggled with elevation, largely due to being confined to conversation within the Armed Forces, they never venture out and those outside, never venture in.

Two areas we work on are as follows;

1. The 30 second pitch – This can make or break a conversation, be it in a room, an elevator or an interview. What you say first could be what remains on the mind of the listener.

The FTG work on this with you through professional coaches, such as Frances Burman Muellar a career strategy & transition coach specialist. These sessions are free and are largely carried out over webinar so no effort or travelling needed, just the your time and in the comfort of your own home or location.

2. Pre-Interview Technique – This is used in association with The Rotary Club and a Frances will designate a professional to you, this will usually take 2 sessions to complete.

Once an interview is confirmed we work with you to understand what the organisation really wants. We do this with experts in interview technique who break down the business and help you elevate in the correct way, using quick, punchy but relevant answers.

In the past 24 months, over 90% of those using this option have been succesful in being offered the job. Please be aware, we do need more than 72 hours notice with this.

If you would like to know more or book a 121 pre-interview session, simply get in touch at john@forcestransitiongroup.co.uk and we will get this process moving for you.

FAQs for Hunters

Do I need a CV for the Forces Transition Group job fair?

No – you can attend even if you have not got around to sorting out your CV. You will still be able to interact directly with potential employers during the job fair.

(Top Tip – it’s always a good idea to get your CV prepared anyway. If you need help with this just get in touch with us here)

I cannot make the online Jobs Fair, will it be repeated?

Not exactly – we try to make each job fair fresh and exciting by showcasing new employers that have not exhibited before, so only a handful of key exhibitors are invited to return. Some exhibitors choose to have their presentation permanently on the job fairs website so you can return anytime to view those.

I've already left the forces, can I attend the job fair?

Yes, if you ever served within the forces, this is for you.

Can I attend the job fair if I have not started my transition?

Yes you can – many ‘in-service’ Forces personnel attend our job fairs as it helps them identify career paths that they may not have thought of.
