We’re recruiting a qualified Plumber to join our Facilities Management team at HMP Kirkham, an open prison near Preston. This is a stable, long‑term role on a secure Ministry of Justice contract.

Working hours
39 hours per week
Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
Friday–Sunday: 08:00 – 16:00
1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis
15% weekend allowance on basic salary

What you’ll be doing
Routine and reactive plumbing maintenance
Mains water supply repairs
Fault finding and repairs on life‑expired equipment
Inspections, water sampling and basic risk assessments
Making good following repairs

What we’re looking for
NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating is essential
Experience working in a commercial environment
Full UK driving licence
Experience using light plant equipment
Legionella Control (L8) – desirable

Security clearance
This role is subject to Prison Security Clearance and a Standard DBS check.
Amey will support you through the full clearance process.
