Leaving the military and wondering where your engineering skills fit?
If you’ve worked on vehicles, aircraft, weapons systems, marine systems, plant equipment, communications infrastructure or industrial assets – your experience could transfer directly into this role.
We’re looking for Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers (on-site) to support busy manufacturing sites in Scotland, Wales, York OR Peterborough, where reliability, safety and fast fault-finding matter.
The Role
You’ll support site operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and responding quickly when problems occur.
Your responsibilities will include –
Responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults
Electrical and mechanical maintenance activities
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Supporting installation and commissioning projects
Working with PLCs, drives, motors, sensors and control systems
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
You don’t necessarily need timber manufacturing experience.
We’re interested in engineers from –
Armed Forces engineering backgrounds
Heavy industry
Automotive
Aerospace
Marine
Manufacturing
Utilities
Industrial maintenance environments
You’ll ideally have –
Engineering apprenticeship, military trade training or equivalent
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
Experience with control systems, motors, hydraulics or pneumatics
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong safety mindset
18th Edition is useful but not essential.
