Project Management for Service Leavers with APM PFQ
The Project Management for Service Leavers with APM PFQ course has been created exclusively for HM Armed Forces Service Personnel who are in their resettlement and looking to transition from the Military into a project management role in civvy street.
In this course, we will teach you civilian project management tools and techniques, aligned to APM best practice, whilst also helping you to draw upon your military project experience and understand the differences in language used. We deliver this course with a keen eye for the practical application of project artifacts, from building a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), to assessing risks and engaging stakeholders, all of which will help you plan your resettlement.

Change Management Practitioner Training Course
Our Change Management Practitioner course has been designed to address the growing need for Project Managers and PMO teams to bring practical best practice change management principles to project & programme delivery. We understand the unique skills and experiences gained in military service and have designed a specific APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) course tailored for service leavers. This course contextualises project management principles to military experience and resettlement planning, with practical exercises and discussions relevant to someone with a military background.
All course delegates get free access to the Wellingtone Community to continue their learning, which culminates in our flagship in-person conference designed to help delegates to learn, share & grow alongside industry project professionals.
Our Military Trainer: Simon Parsons
Simon Parsons is a service leaver, now serving as a Reservist and Project Management Trainer here at Wellingtone. Having successfully transitioned from a military career to the project management sector, he possesses a deep understanding of the complexities involved in translating military experience into civilian terminology. Simon actively assists members of the forces community with this process. Additionally, he recognises the significant value that Forces Spouses can bring to the field as Project Professionals, and provides them with targeted guidance, training, and information about opportunities within the profession.
Beyond APM PFQ, we also deliver the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and can support those aspiring to achieve APM Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status.
