We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Community Project Coordinator to help deliver the Shildon and Newton Aycliffe Strategic Heritage Place Programme, part of a national initiative supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Working at the heart of a dynamic partnership, you will help bring together communities, heritage organisations and local stakeholders to develop projects, build relationships and create opportunities for people to connect with their heritage. Based at Locomotion in Shildon, with office space provided and hybrid working available, you will help deliver the Shildon and Newton Aycliffe Strategic Heritage Place programme, collaborating closely with programme partners and the external evaluator. You will contribute to activity that supports heritage, skills development, community participation and the future sustainability of key local heritage assets such as Shildon Railway Institute.
WHAT WILL I NEED
You will have experience of project coordination or management, excellent organisational skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people. You will be confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with partners, stakeholders and communities.
You will also have experience of working with community organisations, volunteers or partner networks and an interest in heritage, culture or place-based regeneration. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
